The Tokor Well is located in the Bukedea District in the Eastern part of Uganda where consumption of contaminated water is a way of life and a number of children have been lost due to the consumption of dirty water. The community had been walking 2.5km to access this contaminated water from a swallow well which carried diseases such as bilharzia, cholera and typhoid.
This borehole has been timely for the community and it will benefit 150 households, bringing clean water to over 1,300 people.
Thank you to the Sahara Warriors for funding the Tokor Well.
