Introducing Geoff Andrews

We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new CEO, Geoff Andrews.

“I found the Lord at the age of 13 and a few years later the Lord gave me a vision of working with food in sub-Saharan Africa. Consequently I completed a degree in food technology and a PhD in dairy science before starting a career in the UK food industry. For the next 19 years I continued to ask the Lord when I would starting working in Africa. The call came clearly in September 2005 and in November 2007 I joined  Medair as project manager in northern Uganda. In 2009 I was promoted to Deputy Country Director Uganda and then Country Director (CD). In November 2009 Medair asked me to take the role of CD in DR Congo where I lived for 2.5 years. In March 2013 I joined ZOA, a Dutch Christian NGO as CD Burundi. In 2016 I moved to the head office as Director of Disaster Response. In 2018 I rejoined Medair as CD South Sudan, Medair’s largest country programme. I returned to the UK in March 2020 just before international travel became impossible. I worked as a volunteer for Medair HQ for two months then for three months as Strategy Adviser for the South Sudan NGO Forum.

I am single with no children which has made living and working in different countries easier. I love to serve the Lord and to serve the poorest of the poor. I am looking forward to continuing that journey with Fields of Life. I will move to Belfast at the end of October 2020 and start at the beginning of November.

It is a huge privilege to be given the responsibility of leading Fields of Life and I am grateful to Richard, my predecessor, for laying a firm foundation. I want to thank the trustees for putting their trust in me and to the Lord for opening this opportunity to serve.”

Please join with us in praying for Geoff as he prepares to move to Northern Ireland and take up his new role in November. We look forward to welcoming him to the team!
